Food News: Heights-Area Bar Gets Really Christmasy

Texadelphia, the chain fusing the cuisines of Texas and Philadelphia, primarily through cheesesteaks, is expanding with locations in Katy (1321 N. Westgreen Blvd.) and Memorial (9655 Katy Fwy). Both are listed at crowdfunding investment portal NextSeed. Look for the Katy location to open soon, while the Memorial location is tabbed for a spring 2020 opening.

Porch Swing Pub on Heights Blvd. has turned into Santa's Tavern. And this is a legitimate venture. There are activities like gingerbread-house- and ornament-making workshops, plus theme nights, music, karaoke, visits with Santa, and more. $20, $10 per child age 5-12, free age 4 and younger. Open through Dec. 31.
