Get cheesy just before Thanksgiving at Twisted Grilled Cheese.

Popular Houston food truck Twisted Grilled Cheese opened its first brick-and-mortar location Saturday at 5555 Washington Ave.

Inside a 2,300-square-foot space (with an 800-square-foot patio), Twisted Grilled Cheese will serve signature sandwiches like 5 Cheese Pepperoni, Smokehouse Brisket, and Halal Philly Grilled Cheesesteak, plus new items like an avocado BLTE and vegetarian offerings (spinach and artichoke, eggplant parmesan). Sides (Parmesan waffle fries, tomato basil soup), loaded fries, and desserts (cheesecake dessert sandwich, Nutella dessert sandwich) are also on offer.

"We love coming up with new ways to make comfort food for foodies," says co-owner Erinne Willrich. "We are so grateful for the support that has encouraged and enabled us to open our first brick and mortar, and we can’t wait to introduce even more people to the perfect grilled cheese sandwich."

Gin Design Group designed the space, which includes Houston-inspired murals by Armando and a bar with custom ceramic tiles. Pruitt Structures LLC did the buildout.

Twisted Grilled Cheese is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday–Saturday.

Public Services Wine & Whisky is closed permanently, according to an announcement made Thursday on social media by bar owner Justin Vann.

"I'm sorry to the many friends and regulars who didn't get a chance to say a proper goodbye to the space," writes Vann, who's also a contract writer for Houstonia. "But the way I see it, a bar is made up of the people that run it and visit it, more so than the physical space. PSA lives on in the memories we made together there."

Public Services had a six-year run inside the historic Cotton Exchange Building in Downtown Houston, specializing in a deep list of rare wines and whiskeys while also hosting tastings and classes. Vann, who is also the wine buyer for Theodore Rex, will continue there while also serving as sommelier at Nancy's Hustle

The Katy location of Dish Society will move from one spot of LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch to another, the future address being 2643 Commercial Center Blvd, #B350. The new 4,100-square-foot site (an upgrade from 2,600 square feet in its existing space) will open by February 2021.

Tumble 22, an Austin-based hot chicken concept, will open its first Houston location during the first week of December at 10723 Louetta Rd in Vintage Park. Here, chicken is fried and coated in a secret spice dip 22 times. Along with chicken (sandwich, tenders, bites, bone-in), menu items include macaroni and cheese, deviled eggs, and more, plus cocktails. It'll be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday–Saturday.

Welcome Waters Edge Winery & Bistro, which opens Tuesday at 4828 Waterview Town Center Dr, #700, Richmond. The urban winery hosted a grand opening celebration over the weekend. Along with several of its own wines, Waters Edge will offer both old world and new world bottles along with a bistro menu that includes cheese boards and hummus plates; sandwiches and flatbreads; and salads and desserts.
