Down House has closed in the Heights.

Sad news, folks. The beloved café Down House has shuttered after 10 years of business on Yale Street.

Known for being a laid-back coffeehouse, friendly neighborhood bar, and reliable spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch (and even if you had kids in tow), this spot's shuttering will undoubtedly leave a hole in many folks' hearts. The restaurant announced its closure on Facebook and Instagram on Wednesday.

"It’s really important to me to specifically acknowledge our staff, some of whom have worked here at Down House for 7, 8, 9+ years," owner Chris Cusack wrote in the post.

"These folks are what made Down House special, and it’s to everyone who put their love and energy into this building that I feel particularly grateful. Thank you guys for everything."
