But now as stuff is getting better, Home Slice is back with the next stage of the opening announcements. Its first Houston outpost will open its doors this fall at 3701 Travis St in Midtown. That's the space that was Monica Pope's Sparrow Bar + Cookshop, and it's also next to the Breakfast Klub.

“Midtown is evolving into one of the most walkable neighborhoods in Houston, making it a perfect fit for the Home Slice brand,” said co-owner Joseph Strickland, a Houston native. “I am personally thrilled to be part of the team bringing Home Slice to my hometown.”
Home Slice will do what it has been doing best for more than 15 years: New York City-style thin-crust pizza with the grease dripping off the fold. It'll also have calzones, sub sandwiches (or hoagies or grinders or whatever you want to call them), and plenty more. It'll be mostly takeout with curbside pick-up and delivery, but Home Slice will also have some dine-in along with a patio, and, of course, its famed Slice Window. That'll be open through late night.
To not Austin up the place, Home Slice special projects manager Jeff Mettler moved to H-Town in November so he could do some research and make some friends.
