Learn to make authentic Tex Mex with Sylvia Casares. 

WE ALL LOVE Tex-Mex. But we can’t all cook it—at least, not as well as places like Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen.

But all is not lost! On July 31, Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchens owner Sylvia Casares will be teaching a class on Tex-Mex appetizers at her Eldridge Parkway location from 1–4 p.m.

For $65, attendees will receive the class, all materials, and a meal at Sylvia’s. 

“Sylvia will be showing the step-by-step ways to making flautas, chile con queso, picamole, ceviche, avocado salsa, and roasted tomato salsa,” according to a press release. “All are perfect for summer entertaining or just casual afternoons with family out of the heat.”

The class will be a hands-on class with Casares. Recipes for all these dishes are also found in her “The Enchilada Queen Cookbook,” by St. Martin’s Griffin.

With two Houston-area locations, Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen has earned numerous accolades over the years, including being named a Top 50 Tex-Mex institution by USA Today. Casares also had the honor of competing on the “Beat Bobby Flay” show in 2015.
