In this day and age, we could all use a boost. So why not get a literal boost from an IV drip? On Friday, mobile wellness drip spa Bounce Hydration is hosting a pop-up event at Redemption Square in northeast Houston.

IV drips, which deliver nutrients directly into your bloodstream through a plastic tube in your arm, are a good way to rehydrate and detox the body, says James Johnson, a registered nurse who cofounded Boost in 2018. The mobile spa offers 26 different drips, boosters, and shots, but “we’ve seen an uptake in more of a wellness booster drip,” says Johnson. “People are just more aware of wellness and just taking care of themselves.”

One of their most popular drips during the pandemic has been the “Immunity Warrior,” a liter of electrolytes, zinc, and Vitamin C, all of which help to give your immune system that extra boost. At $250, the Immunity Warrior is on the more expensive side—most drips start around $199, Johnson says—but all drips at the Friday pop-up are 15 percent off.

In addition to the IV drips, Bounce Hydration is also offering $75 antibody testing during the pop-up. Just get one prick of the finger, and only 15 minutes later, find out if you have had Covid-19 and have the antibodies in your body to fight the virus.

All antibody testing and IV drips will be administered by registered nurses. To maintain safety, Johnson says they’re following all city and CDC guidelines. Masks and gloves will be worn by staff. Clients will be prescreened for Covid-19 symptoms; plus, they’ll check your temperature when you arrive.
