Aliens Invade Wet’n’Wild Splashtown with a New Six-Story Water Slide

The question is: Will little green men make the lines feel shorter?

In case you missed the newest addition to the I-45 skyline, Wet’n’Wild Splashtown will debut its new waterslide, Alien Chaser, this Friday, June 16.

The new 60-foot high and 429-foot long slide is pretty big (but thankfully not Schlitterbahn big). A ride through its dark black and purple tunnels has been said to be “out of this world,” and joins seven other thrill rides towering over the park, including the ever-popular Texas Freefall.  Splashtown-goers can grab a tube and zip through the alien-themed saucer sections of the six-story tube slide as early as 10 a.m.

And while we have you, a bit of Houston theme park history: Alien Chaser is the water park's first extraterrestrial-themed slide, although it's possible aliens inhabited the same land before Hanna–Barbera Land vacated the property to become Splashtown in the 1980s. Maybe there was a Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space-themed roller coaster?

We certainly hope so.

Tickets from $33. 21300 Interstate 45 N. Visit wetnwildsplashtown.com.
