We've successfully made it to the end of the year. For Houstonians, it's no hold-up that the new year fell on a Saturday, making Sunday the perfect rest day for when the hangover kicks in. Bring in the new year right breaking a sweat at the Bollywood and Bhangra dance class in Levy Park, enjoy the sounds of rock music at Localmania 2 at White Oak Music Hall or go see the Harry Potter parody, Potted Potter at The Hobby Center.

Rockin' New Year's Noon 

Allow the kids to turn up and enjoy the new year at the Children's Museum. The family-friendly event will bring in the new year at noon and will include a festive parade and a ball drop.

Kickstart your New Year's resolutions for getting in shape this weekend at the Bollywood and Bhangra dancing class at Levy Park. The high-intensity workout will get your body moving, and you'll surely break a sweat.

Localmania 2 at White Oak Music Hall

Texas is filled with amazing artists from all over, and White Oak Music Hall will host a group of local bands this weekend. Appropriately titled Localmania, the festival will include acts such as BILE, Apothica, and Mirror Lake.

Christmas Bird Count at the Houston Arboretum

The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center will host its 122nd annual Christmas Bird Count. The community project puts birdwatchers on a five-mile trail where everyone can sight-see.

Potted Potter

If you're a fan of Harry Potter, the Potted Potter at the Hobby Center is where you need to be this weekend. A parody of J.K. Rowling's prized stories, the play is 70 minutes of hilarious laughs.
