The Super Bowl is Sunday, and Valentine's Day is Monday, but that's just another weekend to host a series of events for Houston. No matter who's your Valentine or who you're cheering on in the Super Bowl this year, something is happening that will cater to you.
This weekend, get in the competitive spirit at Revelry for the Winter Beer Olympics or head to Social Beer Garden Sunday for its Super Bowl watch party. For family-friendly fun, bring the kids to NRG Arena for Sesame Street Live! and end the weekend with a loved one at the Houston Symphony.
Here are five things to do in Houston this weekend.
Winter Beer Olympics at Revelry
In celebration of this year's Winter Olympics, Revelry on Richmond brings a competitive spirit of their own. Rally a team of four to participate in games like giant beer pong, corn hole, ring toss, and flip cup. Cash prizes start at $400 for first place.
P.S. your team gets bonus points if everyone's in uniform.
Revelry on Richmond, 1613 Richmond Avenue. Saturday, February 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. $20 per team entry. More information here.
The Palestinian American Cultural Center and the Arab American Cultural Community Center have put together the second-ever Arab Bazaar. Guests will discover Arab-owned businesses at the expo, from beauty products to jewelry.
Arab American Cultural Community Center, 10555 Stancliff Rd. Saturday, February 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Free. More information here.
Sesame Street Live! Let's Party!
Elmo and his friends have made their way to the Bayou City, looking to party. At the family-friendly event, watch as all of Sesame Street attempts to plan a gathering, but choosing a party theme is a lot harder than expected.
NRG Arena, 1 NRG Parkway. All weekend long. Tickets start at $22. More information here.
Watch Party at Social Beer Garden
Instead of watching the Super Bowl at home on Sunday, care from a jumbo television while lying in a hammock at Social Beer Garden. Get there early to taste cajun delights and doggy bag wings at 2:00 p.m. Not to mention DJ Johnny J is setting the vibe, and door prizes await those who attend.
Social Beer Garden, 3101 San Jacinto St. Sunday, February 13 from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Free admission. More information here.
Valentine's Weekend at the Houston Symphony: Romantic French Masterworks
Love is in the air this weekend, and nothing says romance more than music. The Houston Symphony will perform a series of French masterworks that will indeed have you swooning. Some of the performed compositions work from the talented sister composers Nadia and Lili Boulanger.
Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, 615 Louisiana St. Friday, February 11 and Saturday, February 12 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets start at $26. More information here.
