Houston’s most Houston holiday is back. July 13 marks the day when the calendar date aligns just right as 7/13, also the city’s most well-known area code. Every 713 Day, Houstonians go all out showing Space City pride with events, performances, and plenty of $7.13 food and drink specials.

This year, 713 Day falls on a weekday—a Monday no less. Most of us, sadly, won’t get this “notliday” off, though that should certainly be considered (looking at you, Mayor Whitmire). Nevertheless, the city is using this year’s timing as an excuse to start the celebrations early, with many kicking off the fun on Friday or Saturday. Let’s get this party started. Here’s how locals can celebrate 713 Day this year.
