An Evening with the American Dream Builders

Local reality star celebrates prime-time debut.

With Sarah Pendley April 18, 2014

Houstonian interior designer Nina Magon celebrated her prime-time debut on NBC’s American Dream Builders at the Internum Showroom off Kirby on Thursday. Fellow cast members joined in as they mingled among Magon-approved design elements, from shelving and wall units to contemporary beds and lamps.

For those of you who don't follow televised competitions, American Dream Builders is a new reality show that follows 12 contestants, many of them among most accomplished designers and homebuilders in the country, as they do major renovations on two homes each week.

Midway through the evening, organizers held a silent auction benefiting Dec My Room, a charitable organization that decorates and personalizes childrens' hospital rooms with items such as toys, games, and stuffed animals. When kids return home the goodies are theirs to take with them.
