The Traveling Black Dress: Warhol Edition

Add some pop art to that LBD in your closet.

Most of us ladies have a simple black dress in our closet. No reason to let it sit there for long because there are so many different ways to accessorize and embelish your LBD to give it an entire new look. The possibilities are endless!

Dress from Em and Lee Boutique

Known as the inventor of pop art, Andy Warhol explored the relationship between art, celebrity and advertising in his work. He was especially known for his portrait of Marilyn Monroe and his interpretation of the Campbell's Soup can.

Shirt, necklaces - Forever 21; Hat - Urban Outfitters; Headband, tights - Nordstrom; Socks - American Apparel; Shoes - Madden Girl

This outfit reflects the artsy Warhol and beatnik era. I think the beatnik look has been emulated in fashion every decade since the 1950s. Whether it's described as hipster, jazz, emo, or punk, the look lives on.

I took my LBD to Forever 21, Nordstom, and Urban Outfitters to achieve this look. All of the accessories are price-friendly and can be mixed and matched with so many other outfits.

You can attach different decorative pins, clips or headbands to this plain black hat to give it many looks.
