THE LBD

The Traveling Black Dress: Bistro Edition

There's no trendier way to dress up your LBD then by adding an apron skirt on top.

There were all kinds of fun trends that hit the runways for Spring and Fall 2015. Two of the looks shown were the 'apron skirt' and the 'bistro look,' two trends that seemed to overlap. For the spring shows, many designers presented apron-skirting in all different styles.

Chanel even staged its Fall 2015 runway show to look like a stroll through a French brasserie, and the clothing reflected it. As the Washington Post's Robin Givhan put it, "Chanel wants you to dress like a bistro waiter."

I loved this trend, so decided to accessorize my black dress accordingly.

Where do you take your LBD to reflect the "apron/bistro" look? Sur La Table of course, which is exactly where I went. Their aprons are way too chic to stay in the kitchen. Oh, and for this shoot I added another great accessory--a handsome man.

White blouse - Zara/Apron - Sur La Table/Pearls - Macy's/Brooch - Chanel/Shoes - Gianni Bini @ Dillards/ Handsome escort - Jeremy Andrews

I added some pearls and a Chanel brooch pin (at the waistline bow).
