When it comes to European fast-fashion chains, H&M gets all the press—and after making us wait years for a location inside the beltway, that's understandable.
But never underestimate the Houston fashionista's love for Zara. Priced slightly above European counterparts like Topshop and H&M, the brand focuses on clean-lined, understated basics without cutting corners on quality. Where else can you find real leather and suede handbags for under $100? Zara lovers are far too practical to be called cult-like, but they are unswerving in their devotion to the brand.
It's been over a decade since the Spanish retailer opened their first location in the Galleria, and now the brand is expanding its footprint in Houston, with a second location planned to debut in Fall 2015 at Memorial City Mall. The new location will be divided into three individual but interconnected boutiques for men's, women's, and children's clothing, each with its own entrance.
It's not the first time Zara has expanded its footprint in Houston, though. The Galleria location closed for renovation and expansion last spring, re-opening in August as a two-story space with over 18,000 total square feet over both levels.
