It's a big deal when a Houston designer makes a splash on the national radar, and it's an even bigger deal when they are honored with a spot on a short list of the best in the business.

That's why we're so thrilled that Marie Flanigan and her firm, Marie Flanigan Interiors, was named one of the top 10 "New Traditional" designers by Traditional Home magazine in the May 2015 issue. In a huge, 11-page spread, the magazine focuses on Flanigan's airy, neutral revamp of a midcentury Colonial in Houston, a project that exemplifies Flanigan's expertise in making a restrained palette pop with her use of texture and light.

(When the homeowners are willing to spring for an antique limestone fireplace from France and massive reclaimed wood beams for the ceilings, you know, that doesn't hurt either.)

You can check out Flanigan's feature (with stunning photos by Houston's own Julie Soefer) in Traditional Home here, repping houston between projects in Manhattan and the Hamptons.
