Hamilton, Reeves Antiques
"Hamilton is a miniature longhair dachshund and has worked at Reeves Antiques since January 2015. He has many responsibilities: testing chairs and sofas, greeting clients at the door, escorting clients around the store, and barking at any dogs that pass by. He has proved to be a great salesmen, charming every client by rolling onto his back and asking for belly rubs. Hamilton is a hard worker and always comes to work on time!" -Matt Reeves

Moe, J. Landa Jewelry
"Meet Moe—he's our store greeter! This Frenchie loves kisses and is always in a good mood to greet everyone that comes in to shop!" -Jay Landa

Chester, My London Flat
"Chester was considered for Lord Grantham's dog in Downton Abbey. His taste level is grand, weighing in at 125 lbs. Chester insists on lounging on silk pillows with the Royal crests and he sips his 'still' water from a 'keep calm and carry on' teacup. Chester's finely coiffed hair is one his most admired attributes. He uses his carefree appearance to put customers at ease, then he leaps into his role as shop concierge to make everyone's trip to 'His London Flat' memorable!" -Suzy Smith

Oliver and Adele, Carrie Ann Boutique
"Oliver is the Yorkie and Adele is the Rat Terrier Mix. Their retail skills include greeting customers at the door and eagerly embracing the trends of the day. They also participate in many events and photo shoots. Oliver and Adele are lovable and always excited to see you when you walk in the door." -Carrie Ann Sanders

Tino, Saint Cloud
"Our shop dog is Tino, and he is a 9-month-old pit bull rescue. He is our chief officer in charge of greeting customers, sunbathing, napping, cuddling and has also been recently named our official product tester for all the dog-related items in the store. Because he is so handsome and photogenic with his hazel eyes and grey-blue fur, he acts as our in-house model for social media. Through interaction with our customers, Tino has been able to educate and inform people about the sweet and gentle nature of pit bulls, and win over the hearts of everyone he meets. He is the official Saint Cloud pit bull ambassador!" -Cecilia Marquez

Billy Doran, Muse Boutique
"Billy Doran, the Muse goldendoodle, is consistently voted most popular sales person in the store. Even though he is limited in his ability to personally show merchandise to customers, he always greets the customers and demonstrates a very positive attitude. He always appreciates an acknowledgement of his hard work with a friendly pet or back scratch." -Lindsay Mousoudakis

Beans, Barkin' Beans
"Our mascot is really the boss. His name is Beans, the store was named after him. His daily responsibilities are to open the store, greet all customers, taste test all food products and close the store with me. He works an average of 11 hours a day. He's the hardest working pit bull we know :)" -Todd Nathan

Chloe and Coco, Eye Impact
"Chloe, my dog, is the larger blond dog, she is 4-years-old and a rescue from Friends for Life. Her litter was found out in the woods and eventually all got adopted. She lives for chasing after squirrels and belly rubs. Coco (not pictured), the yorkie/shitzhu mix belongs to my optician Hugo. He is also a rescue from one of Hugo's friends who moved back overseas and couldn't take him. He's energetic and very friendly. He loves to spend a good part of the day licking Chloe's ears. They are the welcoming committee at Eye Impact!" -Gary Nguyen

Pink and Abby, Top Drawer Lingerie
"We actually have two furry mascots, Pink and Abby. They both work as greeters at Top Drawer. Pink is a 14-year-old West Highland Terrier and Abby, we think, is a 6-year-old Mixed Golden Whippet. Pink is by far the most experienced of the two; she has worked as a greeter most of her life, while Abby is still in training and has only been working for the last year or so." -Dow Hickam

Peaches, Queen of Heirs
"This is Peaches. As a rescue she had her back legs attached, and several surgeries later, can walk on all 4. She is 5.5 years old, a momma protector and cannot be out of view of me. We have strategically placed 4 beds in the shop, so no matter where I am, she can see me. She really does run the shop! Will sniff a tad, run back behind the counter and assess from there. Peaches will use her snout to open the shoecase gate if she feels 'all is fine' with the present customer(s). Men in hats are her least favorite, but when she growls, trouble is brewing. To date, her keen sense has paid off. The growl means danger and we all listen to the 6.5 pound poodle! Many customers stop by to see her, young ones come in just to hold her and we get calls to see if she is in before some drive over! You see, she does run the shop!!" -Robin Lindberg

Sir Griffin, JW Marriott Houston Downtown
"Sir Griffin is the new pet director for the luxury hotel. The adorable mixed pug has proven to be quite the social butterfly and is a natural at greeting and interacting with guests. He enjoys visiting pet-friendly venues and making appearances at events benefiting pet causes to raise awareness of pet adoptions. In the near future, Sir Griffin will be available to spread his cheer at area children’s hospitals," -Magen Pastor.

Dylilah, Manready Mercantile
"Meet Dylilah, the official shop dog of Manready Mercantile. She even has her own Instagram @thelifeofdylilah! She's a 5-year-old Weimaraner and her main goals in life are coming to work with dad, getting beef jerky treats, and catching a quick nap after a good run! Her duties include posing for pictures and simply looking pretty...trust us, it's a full time job for her! Around Manready Mercantile, it's quite clear who's boss! We always say, Work Hard, Live Well. It's quite apparent that Dylilah took that to heart!" -Travis Weaver
National Dog Day, contrary to popular opinion, is not over at midnight on Aug. 26. National Dog Day lives forever in our hearts, and at many of the independent shops and boutiques around town that boast their own adorable four-legged mascots and salespeople.
