The LBD
The Traveling Black Dress: Boho Rodeo Edition
It's rodeo time and my LBD wants to go!

The Houston Rodeo is coming soon...yeehaw! Every year we Houstonians get treated to a month of some of the best in music, cowboys, mutton bustin', calf roping, wagon racing, trail rides, an outdoor carnival, parties and barbecue. There are too many activities to name them all! Most importantly, more than 750 scholarships will be awarded to Texas students as a result of this production. A girl needs to look rodeo-stylish for all these events, so I took my little black dress over to Jubilee to get 'er done!
When I arrived at Jubilee, the store owner told me that the "Rodeo Boho" look was going to be big this year. Lots of embroidery, fringe, flowers, tassels and chokers. Sort of a music festival meets rodeo look.

All clothing and accessories from Jubilee in the Heights. Boots by Sam Edelman.

I love all the bright colors in this outfit, made a bit edgier with the black backdrop. Turquoise is always a must for rodeo season, but I added pinks and golds to the mix too. The black beading in the cowgirl hat compliments the lace choker and long beaded necklaces.

Instead of cowboy boots, I chose these floral lace-up booties for a more festival feel...after all, I am going to see The Chainsmokers!
