There's never been a win-win-win quite as fun as the Shop With Heart Card.

You know the drill: for 10 days —April 27 through May 7—the $50 card (available at participating retailers) earns you 20 percent off at hundreds of Houston stores, plus includes the option to choose a free appetizer or dessert with the purchase of an entree at dozens of local restaurants.

You get a week and a half of deals, local businesses get a boost and the Heart Guild of Houston, a fundraising arm of the American Heart Association, gets 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the cards to fund research and education to fight heart disease. That's just awesome, full stop. Of course, to come out ahead on your donation/investment, you'll need to drop at least $250 in the 10-day period. But don't worry, we have ideas.

1. Upgrade your Mother's Day gift.

You can either go bigger and bask in being the favorite — or you can tell her you got 20 percent off if she's the kind of mom who'd be even prouder that you got a good deal. You could start at Card-friendly stores like Mariquita Masterson, Events, Blue Leaf, Tory Burch and Williams-Sonoma.

2. Go ahead and knock out Father's Day while you're at it.

We'd start at Bering's, Fleet Feet Sports, M Penner, Billy Reid or River Oaks Bookstore.

3. Be a Tex-Mex baller.

Order (free) Jose's Dip for the table at Molina's Cantina and enjoy the glory of being a queso patron. Same goes for the tres leches at Américas River Oaks, except you may be less inclined to share.

4. Splurge on the All-In treatment at Paloma Nails.

Or book balayage at Therapy Hair Studio, or treat yourself to a Tata Harper facial at Maison Luisant, or play up your lashes at Luxy Lashes, etc. Talk about the look for less.

5. Buy a new bathing suit for summer.

Get in the swim at Top Drawer Lingerie, the Houstonian Sports Shop or Saint Bernard.

6. Go big by going home.

If you are eyeing a major home purchase in 2017 (maybe something incorporating one of these hot trends?), 20 percent off could equal major money. Go ahead, get tempted at BeDesign, West Elm, Carl Moore Antiques, Mecox, Back Row Design and Kuhl-Linscomb, among others.

7. Treat Yo Self.

We're pretty sure you could use a little something new for summer in your closet anyway. Maybe this is the perfect time to explore some new boutiques? Try Sette, Richly Clad, Birch Modern Mercantile, Luxington or Baanou, for starters.
