Our Favorite Looks from the 2018 Oscars
The 2018 awards season had a solemn start with political fashion statements and a red carpet blackout at the Golden Globes, when allegations of sexual harassment and assault against powerful men in Hollywood found celebrities wearing black in solidarity with the Time's Up and #MeToo movements. Sunday's 90th Academy Awards saw no organized protest, but subtle nods of support—like more Time's Up pins—could still be found on red carpet walkers.
Nude and chic white gowns took center stage with Allison Williams in Armani Privé; Gina Rodriguez in Zuhair Murad Spring 2018 Couture; Abbie Cornish in Elie Saab Spring 2018 Haute Couture; Margot Robbie, a new ambassador for Chanel, in Chanel Haute Couture; Mary J. Blige in custom Atelier Versace; and Laura Dern in custom Calvin Klein by Appointment.
Gold and silver glitter had its moment, too, with Sandra Bullock in a custom Louis Vuitton black-and-gold halter dress, Molly Sims in Naeem Khan, Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Pre-Fall 2018 gold embroidered silk, and Gal Gadot in Givenchy Spring 2018 Haute Couture.
