"Paris may be the fashion capital of the world, but Texas is a whole 'nother world unto itself." So goes the thinking of brothers Paul and Patrick Hotze, Lone Star State natives and third-generation entrepreneurs who set out to build their own fashion brand here in 2012. That brand, Paris Texas Apparel Co., quickly became known for its unique brand of Texas pride, including Hotze-designed silk ties and bowties, graphic tees, and San Cristobal ready-to-wear guayaberas. Most, if not all, of Paris Texas goods feature a Southern twist, be it as subtle as a tessellated oil rig pattern or as exclamatory as an Alamo wall print that reads, "Victory or death."

In 2016, the Hotzes opened a Houston storefront full of their iconic Texas-inspired merchandise plus products from like-minded brands, including barware, luggage, home goods, leather products, and collegiate-themed gifts. Last night, the brand celebrated the grand opening of its brand new, expanded storefront at Voss and Woodway in most Texan fashion–with strong drinks and Southern fare.

Partygoers sipped peach margaritas and Texas craft beers and ate crab cakes, beef tenderloin sandwiches, and mini grits as they shopped the new 2,700-square-foot space. On-brand, the decor includes a glass-encased Alamo diorama, neon Lone Star Beer sign, custom wall mural, and "Easy Come, Easy Go" tile welcome mat. At 1341 S Voss Road, the store is now open to the public.
