Houston went crazy for Luxury Garage Sale this past spring when the Chicago-based outpost set up shop in River Oaks—so much so, it was the company's most successful pop-up to date, exceeding expectations within the first five days. Now, LGS is coming back for more, bringing couture consignment to Rice Village for a month-long second round in H-Town.

"Our initial [Houston] pop-up was so successful that immediately we knew this city was special and that we had to return," says LGS CEO Trish Lukasik.

Find new, pre-owned, and vintage pieces from luxury brands like Gucci, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton at up to 90 percent off retail price from October 15–November 15 when LGS pops up at 2528 Amherst Street. Rice Village was the ideal return location, LGS founder Brielle Buchberg says, "because we hope to connect to new customers who live in the surrounding neighborhoods while continuing to reach our current base."

This time around, LGS will also sell (and consign) men's inventory in an effort to reach even more clientele. "We know that men often get the short end of the stick when it comes to luxury consignment," Buchberg says. "Coming back, we will help fill that void."

After deeming 2018 "the year of the pop-up," LGS opened more than a dozen such shops around the country in addition to its already existing permanent boutiques, including one in Dallas that regularly attracts Houston customers.

Founded in 2011 by childhood friends Buchberg and Lindsey Segal, the company aimed to fill a dearth in the retail sphere for a combination curated designer retail and consignment boutique. Today, LGS stylists source merchandise specific to each customer base and rely on a stable of consignors who receive a portion of cash or store credit once their item sells.

Interested Houston consignors can drop items off at the pop-up without an appointment, and LGS will also make complimentary closet consultations or arrange for merchandise pickup. It's "intuitive and hassle-free," Segal says, noting in-house market experts "evaluate, authenticate, photograph, and price every item we consign."

Throughout October, LGS will offer 70 percent commission for Chanel, Gucci, Fendi, Prada, and Goyard handbags. Starting October 15, the Rice Village pop-up will be open Monday–Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
