The Women of Wardrobe—Dress for Success Houston's young professionals arm—have managed to make their annual Summer Soirée at Tootsies the unofficial kickoff to Houston's party season. This week, the 16th annual event welcomed over 300 of Houston's finest DFSH supporters for an evening of fashion, featuring local favorite Hunter Bell's fall line and curated collections from CQY Denim and Mignonne Gavigan.

The incredible 12-year-old DJ Maddy Rose kept the energy level high as guests mixed and mingled while salivating over Tootsies' couture emporium and bites and drinks from from Armandos, EgghHaus Gormet, International Smoke, Black Eyed Distilling Co., and more.

Attendees included event chairs Amanda Boffone, Courtney Campo (current WOW President), Julie Longoria Chen, and Daniella Rodriguez (you might know her best as Carlos Correa's fiancé); WOW Co-Founder and KHOU's Mia Gradney, who emceed the event; designer Hunter Bell; Kara McCullers; and Tootsies owners Norman and Donna Lewis.

All Summer Soirée guests received a $25 Tootsies gift card to put toward that evening's purchases, and Tootsies donated 10 percent of sales back to DFSH.

“It’s incredible to see how WOW has grown since we started it 16 years ago. 'WOW' is exactly what people say when they learn about Dress for Success Houston’s mission and our growth of more than 20 programs 'beyond the suit,'" said DFSH president Lauren Levicki Courville, who noted the organization will serve 3,750 Houston-area women and deliver more than 18,500 units of service this year alone. "The women we serve land jobs because we provide the programs for them to build a career."

Levicki Courville went on to thank Tootsies for the store's long-standing support, including the late Mickey Rosmarin, who she called a guardian angel.

Since 2003, the Summer Soirée has raised over $200,000 for the cause. "This is all achieved because of our generous community, as we are not government or United Way funded," Levicki Courville said. "Houston is the best city."
