THE TO-DOUX LIST is lifestyle editor Abby Ledoux’s weekly roundup of pop-ups, markets, and whatever else she feels like doing around Houston each Friday–Sunday (generally). To submit an event for consideration, email details to [email protected]
When: Friday, Dec. 13; 6–8 p.m.
Where: University Blvd., Rice Village
What: As we know, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear, and Rice Village District will do just that with the return of its celebrated holiday a cappella competition. This year's third annual sing-off pits four Houston-based groups—Rice University Philharmonics, Grandmas’ Boyfriends, Rice Apollos, and Space City Sound—against each other for two rounds of upbeat holiday-themed songs plus a special holiday set scored on song choice, choreography, and vocal performance by celeb judges (and emcees) The Suffers. The winners will then light the district's Christmas tree and receive a donation to their group. Free; RSVP suggested.
When: Friday, Dec. 13; 10 p.m.–2 a.m.
Where: 40 Below (beneath Revention Center)
What: Take your obligatory ugly sweater party to the next level with this underground silent disco (you know, the dance party where everyone's wearing headphones) at 40 below (40 steps below Revention Center; just use the main entrance) featuring six live DJs—DJ Shante, DJ Mr. Rogers, DJ 4.0, DJ Nfinite, DJ Multiface, and Coaches—spinning hip hop, dance, Latin, pop, top 40, and more all night. Plus holiday drinks to keep you on your toes. 21+; 2-for-1 tickets at $7.50 each, and—it goes without saying—ugly sweater and holiday attire strongly encouraged.
Holly Jolly HIIT Classes
When: Saturday, Dec. 14; 9 & 10 a.m.
Where: Tough Mudder Bootcamp Sawyer Heights, 1901 Taylor St., Suite I
What: Time to burn off all those Christmas cookies—fo free. Tough Mudder Bootcamp invites all community members to these two morning classes—bring unwrapped gifts for Toys for Tots—featuring their signature, high-intensity group workouts with a festive twist. Santa Squats and Jingle Bell Slams don't sound so bad, right? Register for your sweat sesh online—9 a.m. or 10 a.m. slots available.
Holiday Fit Games
When: Saturday, Dec. 14; 10 a.m.–noon
Where: Downtown Club at the Met
What: Merry #Fitmas continues with these family-friendly, fun-filled games for all ages and skill levels. Bring a partner—$10 per team, or bring a new and unwrapped toy—and join in on the festive games, which conclude with well-deserved cookies and hot cocoa. Email [email protected] to RSVP.

Come out so fresh and so clean and that much easier to tackle your holiday shopping list.
When: Saturday, Dec. 14; noon–4 p.m.
Where: Forth + Nomad, 731 Yale St.
What: 'Tis the season to shop for a cause, and Forth + Nomad—the local Heights shop full of artisan-made goods, aka unique holiday gifts for you and yours—will donate 10 percent of proceeds from this shopping event to Dressember Houston, the local fundraising group fighting against human trafficking. A $15 donation gets you coupons plus access to a festive set-up for last-minute holiday pics.

Where: Woodland Heights
What: It's lit! Take in the sights of one of the year's most festive holiday happenings along the pedestrian-friendly route (see link above), from nostalgic, twinkling white lights to eclectic, over-the-top scenes begging to be Instagrammed. Christmas carols, jazz bands, and more will provide a seasonal soundtrack from front porches, driveways, and yards; plus, use promo code LIGHTSRIDE for 50 percent off two rides from Lyft (max savings $4 per ride). For every redeemed code, Lyft will donate $5 to the Woodland Heights Civic Association. Bonus: Present your ride receipt at the Lyft Hot Cocoa Camper (Norhill Esplanade and Euclid) and get a free hot chocolate.
