"For this to be my very first fashion show, and for it to be at New York Fashion Week, has been a high that I can't really put it into words," exclaimed Houston based designer Tanissa Carmonafter making the official debut of her brand Untourage The Label earlier this month. 

As Carmon solidifies her mark in the mecca of style, she turned to timeless denim for her first launch. 

The collection tittled, The Denim Line, features an assembly of everyday pieces that elevates the typical denim garb. Notable selects include the  Bailey Bomber, accented with a cargo sleeve pocket, the pearly denim Nytsua Dress incorporating this season’s trendy puff sleeve, and the Nova Jumpsuit's ripple effect.

With the release of The Denim Line, the Black-owned brand aims to bridge the gap between street sensibility and femininity through effortless fashion. Untourage The Label makes a unique turn for designers in Houston expanding their market to mainstream hotspots like the East Coast, most important, New York City. 

During the show, Carmon’s two sons made an appearance, as this NYFW debut made a historic impact on her family.

"For my son Branden to perform at New York Fashion Week, and my younger son Bryce to walk on a runway for the first time at their mother's debut show, was a moment in history for our family,” Carmon explains.  "I think that representation is extremely important for those who look like us. We truly are an American success story."
