The wine industry is nothing new to celebrity backing. In 2013, Nicki Minaj became the owner and lead ambassador of Myx Fusions Moscato, Jay Z increased his ownership of Armand de Brignac Champagne, and there’s even been a sighting of Snoop Dog’s Snoop Cali Red in Kroger. Now, designers want in on the celebratory drink, with fashion icon Vera Wang creating her own Italian prosecco, Vera Wang Party.
The notable wedding gown couturier initially created the wine to reimagine celebrations. After the pandemic’s heavy impact, Wang advises to celebrate all of life’s moments.
"It's about celebrating life -- whether it's by yourself with a party of one, me, or you could be celebrating the small moments of your life -- not simply milestones but every day," Wang says of her PARTY line in a virtual launch in July.
The prosecco is described to have an apple and stone fruit aroma with a palette of citrus notes and fresh acidity. In developing the sparkling wine, which is made of 100% Glera grapes, Wang looked to Araldica's second-generation winemaker Claudio Manera who is one of Italy's fastest-growing producers within the well-known Piemonte region and who’s responsible for producing the best-selling Moscato in America.
Bottled inside a sleek silver bottle with the name PARTY in neon yellow overlaid by the signature Vera Wang logo, the stunning design is fit to become the life of the party itself.
As Thanksgiving, Friends-givings, Christmas and New Year’s peak around the corner, now is the time to gear up and plan a successful celebration. Assembling an all-female collective, Wang introduces The Vera Wang PARTY Guide: Tips from Top Entertaining Experts by Vera Wang PARTY, to offer tips & tricks in their respective fields to help you throw an unforgettable bash. Chef Extraordinaire Kristina Vänni, The Mixology Master Pam Wiznitzer, The Resident DJ Nicole Rosé and Fashion Icon Wang herself, share three tips of advice.
According to Wiznitzer, when creating a cocktail for an event, consider the people who will be in attendance and the type of atmosphere you're trying to create. “Start the evening off with a low-proof seasonal cocktail that everyone could enjoy as a first sip of the night. No need to hit the high proof drinks at the start of the event.” she advises.
When finding the perfect outfit, Wang suggests a pop of neon, “Nothing says PARTY like a pop of neon. I have been incorporating neon quite a lot in my designs—beyond clothing too—even the design of my prosecco bottle—Vera Wang PARTY. To me, that touch of brightness signifies fun, modernity, youthfulness and energy.”
When mastering the perfect playlist, Rosé mentions to keep guests who aren’t ready to hit the road just yet in mind, “Finish strong! Think about how long your playlist needs to be. If it runs out in the middle of the party, you might as well just call it the cops and have them break it up because your party is ovaaaa. Calculate the amount of hours and add an extra 30-60 minutes of music for the stragglers.”
And for the fashionably late crew, Vänni instructs how to prepare a drink for those last minute guests, “Chill your Vera Wang PARTY in a snap by adding a handful of kosher salt to the ice in a beverage tub. This lowers the freezing point and will rapidly bring your bottles to the ideal temperature for toasting. Prosecco should be sipped at around 50°”
Retailed at $25, Vera Wang PARTY is now available to purchase online and select stores.
