Things are pretty busy over at Hobby Airport, especially with the impending international expansion. But that won't stop the nearly 88-year-old airport from hosting a big bash tomorrow for the city it has served for so long.
For over 20 years, the airport has hosted HobbyFest, an annual celebration for the surrounding neighborhoods and anyone else in the city who wants to hang out on the airport grounds. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow, will feature free food and beverages, interactive activities, up-close encounters with vintage and contemporary aircraft, and educational exhibits. There's even a barbecue competition!
HobbyFest is free to the public with the donation of a non-perishable food item; the event benefits the Hobby Area Rotary Club. There will be signage all over the area to tell you where the free parking is.
