Enjoy an evening of beer and cheese at the Houston Arboretum.

By now, you've hopefully bought the last few Trapper Keepers and mechanical pencil refills (or whatever they use in schools these days—maybe VR headsets?) your kids will need for the school year ahead, and it's time to celebrate their return to a scheduled, Monday-to-Friday existence that doesn't require you to juggle YMCA day camps or haggle with the grandparents to keep them just one more week.

For just such a celebration, the splendid Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is hosting a Back to School Beer Night on Saturday, August 27 that's—you guessed it—for adults 21 and up only. Your $45 ticket (or $30, if you're a member) will get you a selection of crisp Saint Arnold beers, creamy Houston Dairymaids cheeses, and unlimited access to the park after hours—the Back to School Beer Night runs from 7 to 9 p.m.

If you've never hiked the Houston Arboretum's gently rolling trails by dusk with a can of Endeavor in hand, this is your chance; don't pass it up. Hire a sitter for the kids—okay, there's just that one more thing you need to do—book your ticket online and grab some mosquito repellent. It's not a celebration in Texas without Off!
