Chris Shepherd has a lot to celebrate these days.

Houston's most recognizable chef just received a big honor. Chris Shepherd was named Chef of the Year (in the world) by Robb Report, the luxury-lifestyle magazine based in Los Angeles. According to Robb Report's Best of the Best, Shepherd won because of "the delicious, creative food he serves and the scale of his ambition," which includes closing Underbelly to open Georgia James, as well as opening UB Preserv and continuing his One-Fifth theme. This year, he opened the third iteration of One-Fifth as a concept devoted to Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.

Beard Papa's is coming to Chinatown. Per a representative, the famous (and delicious) Japanese cream puff empire, which has one Houston-area location in Katy, will open its second June 22 at 9393 Bellaire Blvd. inside Bellaire Food Street. This Beard Papa's is set to be the largest one in America.

The first Taste of Montrose begins today, running through June 16, and will benefit The Women's Home, which helps women fighting addiction and living with mental illness reclaim stability and grow stronger. Eight restaurants and eateries will participate.

The popular Turkey Leg Hut is expanding with a mobile food truck. The truck, called TLH Express, is parked at 4902 Almeda Road, serving only turkey legs (it knows what people want). Get your leg from noon to 7 p.m. Friday-Monday. Also, per TLH, more expansion is coming. Stay tuned. And 'til then, grab a turkey leg.

In case you want more Luby's in your life, the famous Texas cafeteria is bringing more of its dishes to H-E-B.
