Houston's holiday markets have everything from handcrafted items to tasty treats for your next gift exchange.

Gift-giving season is here, and while holiday shopping can be stressful, the holiday markets and bazaars held in and around Houston make it easy. Discover something special from the many local vendors selling everything from handcrafted goods to artisanal foodstuffs. Here are some of our favorite seasonal markets and events with something for everyone on your gift list.


Sugar Plum Market

The 23rd annual Sugar Plum Market is back with a Melody of the Season theme. The market features more than 100 vendors for all your gifting needs, while a raffle serves as one of Fort Bend County’s major fundraisers supporting local charities.

The Dickens Market

Spring | Nov 8 & 9 | 9am–4pm | Free

Already bummed about Texas Renaissance Festival wrapping up for the year? Travel back to a different moment in time at the 21st annual Dickens Market, a Victorian-themed Christmas showcase that features 83 booths with crafts and delicious food galore. The proceeds benefit the Cypress Creek Community Chorale, enabling them to present free public concerts in December and May.

The Velvet Stocking brings a new experience this year.

Velvet Stocking Christmas Market

Webster | Nov 14–16 | 9am–5pm | Free

The Velvet Stocking Christmas Market returns to Webster for its 43rd year. Known as one of the longest-running holiday bazaars in the Galveston Bay area, this market brings together local artisans selling handmade fine art and intricate crafts.

Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market is a Houston staple with lots of gifts to choose from.

This local holiday staple features more than 270 merchants (25 of whom are new to the market this year), offering everything from home goods, clothes, and seasonal gifts to toys, jewelry, and gourmet food. The market first began in 1981 as a way to help raise funds for the Houston Ballet’s foundation, academy, and scholarship programs. Expect vendors like Pomp and Circumstance Boutique, the Round Top Collection, Bear Creek Smokehouse, and Two Tequila Sisters. Take a glance at the 14-page list of merchants before you go so you’re not overwhelmed.

Big Top Shopping Festival

Conroe | Nov 16 & 17 | 9am–5pm | Free 

Head over to Big Top in Conroe for the ultimate family affair. The market is made up of handcrafted goods and premanufactured items for every budget. Most vendors are Texas-based. There’s also a diverse array of food options so you can stop for a mid-shopping bite. Whether you’re hungry for a hearty dish or light festival snack, there are lots of options ranging from smoked barbecue to Tex-Mex.

Home for the Holidays Gift Market

Katy | Nov 22–24 | Times Vary by Date | $6–30

Katy’s largest gift market includes over 130 unique vendors with plenty of one-of-a-kind gift options. Santa plans to make an appearance, and there will be food and drinks available on the second level of the venue. Kids under 12 get in for free, with strollers allowed for the littles.

Shop Small Crawl

Rosenberg | Nov 30 | 10am–2pm | Free

Enjoy a day of shopping and sweet giveaways while supporting small, local businesses at this annual event. Guests take a stroll to sample treats from a variety of merchants. This is also a great way to discover the hidden spots, businesses, and other gems of downtown Rosenberg.

Heights Mercantile Holiday Market

The Heights | Dec 14 | 10am–3pm | Free

This annual holiday market is open to anyone looking for some festive fun, live music, and, of course, shopping from over 70 local makers. Santa has been known to make a surprise visit to take pictures with children and collect letters to bring back to the North Pole, so make sure the kids are ready with their wishes just in case. BLCK Market Holiday Market

This installment of BLCK Market celebrates both the holidays and the city’s Black community with a day of live music, food and drinks, gifts from local Black-owned businesses, and activities for the whole family. If you’re looking for a gift sooner, the group also hosts several themed and not-themed events every month.
