The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University presents its season-opening opera workshop featuring pianist Mary Box-Brabant. The program features selections from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Monteverdi’s The Return of Ulysses and a performance of Samuel Barber’s one-act opera, A Hand of Bridge.

Da Camera opens its 2015-2016 season with an ode to Americana music featuring works by Aaron Copland, George Crumb and Charles Ives. The event features Grammy-winning soprano Dawn Upsha, acclaimed pianist Gilbert Kalish and Sō Percussion, whom Da Camera Artistic Director Sarah Rothenberg calls the most renowned percussion quartet today.
