Houstonians’ favorite wild and wacky parade rolls through the city’s streets for the 30th time this year, thanks to the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. Nearly 300 vehicles decked out to resemble everything from Mardi Gras floats to dreamy cityscapes will snake through a new downtown route, to cheers from more than 250,000 spectators.

Ravel’s 15-minute 1928 masterpiece, famous for its exploding crescendo, took five months to complete, which seemed like a pretty quick turnaround at the time.
