Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) brings this smash-hit musical to the Miller Outdoor Theatre this weekend. Based on the legendary impromptu jam session at Sun Records in 1956 amongst rock-n-roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins, hear their hits like Blue Suede Shoes and Great Balls of Fire.

This Was Contemporary Art: Fine and Decorative Arts in Houston 1945—1965

Named after the inaugural exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Museum, This Was Contemporary Art continues to highlight an idea that was revolutionary back in 1948: Decorative art is art, too. Riffling on that exhibition, the Heritage Society and Center for the Advancement and Study of Early Texas Art spotlight decorative arts and furniture made or designed here in Houston.

Agatha Christie's Spider's Web

As part of its annual Summer Chills series, the Alley Theatre presents best-selling novelist Agatha Christie's genius 1954 comedy Spider's Web. Directed by Artistic Director Gregory Boyd, the play centers around a bored diplomat's wife who is known for spinning stories—until there's a murder in her drawing room.
