The much-anticipated Smart Financial Centre, Sugar Land's new $84 million dollar, 200,000-square-foot entertainment venue, hosts its first performer on January 14 with none other than Jerry Seinfeld. The sitcom idol, stand-up icon and host of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee christens the new venue with riffs, bits and, presumably, political fodder (his performance is one week before the inauguration).

Jerry Seinfeld performs at Smart Financial Centre's inaugural event on Jan 14.

“We plan to offer our guests a wide range of performances, including concerts, children and family entertainment, theatrically-staged productions and, of course, comedy,” says Randy Bloom, Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land general manager.

Countless big name performers will continue to stop by Sugar Land in 2017. In January alone, Dirty Dancing: The Musical (Jan 20-22), Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds (Jan 25), country music queen Reba McEntire (Jan 27) and Broadway sensation Kristin Chenoweth (Jan 28) are scheduled to swoon and croon the Bayou City.

Other headliners with Houston on the books include Sting (Feb 23), Billy Crystal (Feb 25), The Lumineers (March 2) and Steve Martin & Martin Short (April 7). Book your tickets now—even though the new venue boasts 6,400 seats, these acts are sure to sell out fast.
