Hunters Extravaganza

An event that calls itself "the Granddaddy of ALL Texas hunting shows" returns to the Bayou City for a weekend to give hunters the rundown on the latest skinning, shooting, and mounting developments just in time for the season. There will also be live alligators, a mechanical bull, and a snake demonstration, because of course there will be.

White Linen Night

August 4 | 19th Street in the Heights

It might look like a cult gathering to the uninitiated, but the white-clad throngs taking over the Heights this Saturday mark the annual summertime gathering of food, shopping, music, and cavorting known as White Linen Night. Started in 2006 by a pair of New Orleans transplants, it's grown into a Houston classic with unofficial branches popping up along White Oak, at Heights Mercantile, and individual establishments, including Heights Bier Garten. Definitely consider an Uber or Lyft—parking will be abominable, and road closures complicate routes.

The Big Lebowski 20th Anniversary
