Is it next year yet?

Don't Worry Houston, Travis Scott's AstroWorld Will Be Back in 2021

The Houston rapper's annual music festival was cancelled this year because of—you guessed it—the coronavirus.

Like everything else fun these days, Travis Scott’s AstroWorld Festival 2020, which was scheduled for November 9, was canceled thanks to the joy-sucking coronavirus pandemic.

But at least Scott provided us a spark of hope, posting on social media that he’d see us next year and reminding us to “stay safe.”

Scott’s love of the original AstroWorld is well-known—we mean, he named an album after it—as are his dreams of rebuilding the park. Still, it came as a huge shock when the Houston native launched a one-day music festival/amusement park extravaganza in his hometown in November of 2018 with a lineup featuring Post Malone, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, and, of course, Scott himself. He then brought it back in 2019 with an equally insane crop of musical talent.

While it’s far too soon to know who’ll be hitting up Houston come the 2021 festival, we’re sure to see a performance from Scott as well as some signees on his Cactus Jack label. Will we see another unexpected name in 2021 like we did when Marilyn Manson was announced on the 2019 lineup? Who knows? But we can’t wait to find out.
