Although most of us have been yearning for a return to in-person events since the pandemic began, the wait is (hopefully) almost over and we can start looking forward to big events once more. On November 2, 2021, celebrity chef Alton Brown will be at the Jones Hall with his newest show, Alton Brown Live: Beyond The Eats.
The event is being put on by the Society for the Performing Arts, and audience members will get to enjoy music, comedy, cooking demos and some “dangerous sciencey stuff" with opportunities for audience interactions. “Plus, you’ll see things I’ve never been allowed to do on TV,” Brown said in a release.
For over 20 years Brown has been a star on the Food Network. He has created, written, and hosted shows like Good Eats, Good Eats: Reloaded, and Good Eats: The Return. Additionally, he’s appeared on Iron Chef America as a culinary commentator and hosted Cutthroat Kitchen. These days, the two-time James Beard award winner and Peabody award winner (for Good Eats) is working on his ninth cookbook.
Just a heads up: Social distancing isn’t planned for the event at this time, but audience members can expect a self-screening process, temperature checks, a face mask requirement, touchless payments and ticketing. However, according to the SPA website, if by October 1, social distancing is still in effect, SPA will adjust the event date with Brown.
Tickets are now on sale, from $50. Get them at spahouston.org or by calling the Society for the Performing Arts Box Office.
