After a glorious week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, Houston artists returned with new tunes to help us make our way through the end of the year. Tauren Wells, who’s amongst a crop of Texas talent to be nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards, released the perfect Christmas cover and guitarist JonoJono returns with the deluxe version of his summer release Aphasia.
Hyro The Hero, “Kids Against The Monsters”
Born in Houston and based in Los Angeles, Hyro The Hero delivers a rebellious and inspiring new single with, "Kids Against the Monsters." The track models his rock/hip-hop fusion and was recently featured on an episode of Kevin Durant's sports drama, Swagger, on AppleTV+.
JonoJono, APHASIA Deluxe
JonoJono can't be stopped. Today welcomes the deluxe version of his EP Aphasia that came out this past July. The new project features five new tracks and was christened by the release of a new visual for his single "SHE" featuring OMB Bloodbath and Dontaskgen. Tracks like "Staying Inside" and "Addiction" lend well to the Houston native's stellar musicianship, as he lays down melodic chords to each track.
Oblivious Jones, GMMF
In his new album GMMF, Oblivious Jones makes it clear why appreciating people in real-time means more than doing it after death. Short for "Give Me My Flowers" the 10 track project features Mo City Dee, Empress Ari and more.
Halston Dare, “Girls” (Remix)
Halston Dare's pop single "Girls" got special treatment from fellow Houstonian and acclaimed dance/electronic DJ, Riddler. The single was originally released earlier this summer. Riddler's remix has already surpassed 50,000 streams and is the perfect song for both a long jog and a night out with your crew.
Tauren Wells, "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" (Cover)
On the heels of his Grammy nominations, contemporary Christian artist Tauren Wells has gifted us the perfect holiday theme song with his cover of *NSYNC's "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays." This special release commemorates his younger days working in Barnes & Noble where he'd sing to long lines of tired shoppers in an effort to brighten their spirits.
