Houston rapstress KenTheMan released a new freestyle this week. 

At January's midPOINT, Houston's music scene is on fire. From our A-list celebs to emerging artists, the city is getting warmed up for a year of heat. This week in new music, the Bayou City Comeback Chorus released their EP, Tik Toker Madeline The Person previews something new, and KenTheMan pays homage to her hometown in a new freestyle.

Since the release of her surprise project, Something For Thee Hotties at the end of 2021, Megan Thee Stallion has been somewhat off the grid. It wasn't until this past Wednesday that she announced her collaboration with Jamaican dancehall rapper/singer, Shenseea for their new track, "Lick." Listen here

Madeline The Person featuring Noah Kahan, "You're Just Being Mean"


Tik Tok sensation Madeline The Person has been previewing tons of new music on her Instagram, and one track, "You're Just Being Mean," has become a huge hit. Featuring Noah Kahan, the "I hate you anthem" was written when she was "super-duper angry." Listen here

2 Chainz, featuring Moneybagg Yo and Beatking, "Pop Music"


Southern rappers 2 Chainz, Moneybagg Yo, and Houston's own Beatking joined forces for an all-new twerk anthem, "Pop Music." The new song and accompanying visual are reminiscent of Freaknik, the annual spring break festival in Atlanta that became a cultural staple in the mid-1980s. Listen here

Bayou City Comeback Chorus, Bayou City Comeback Chorus EP


Kam Franklin brought together Houston singers and songwriters to create an album that reflects on social justice. The collective released its first single "Stronger Together" last week featuring Dende, and now the full EP is here. Inspired by tragedy, the project has songs titled, "We Can All Be Free" and "Be The Light." Listen here

KenTheMan, Red Bull 60 Second Freestyle


KenTheMan has no intentions of slowing down. The femcee recently took on the Red Bull 60 Second Freestyle challenge, where she pays homage to her hometown with hard-hitting verses on her rise to success.
