There's a good chance that when (if?) you think of nightlife in west Houston, you think immediately of CityCentre. But if you want to avoid the throngs of people packing into Yardhouse and Straits and RA Sushi and the Monnalisa bar each evening, head a little farther west on Memorial Dr. until you get to Hungry's. Next door, you'll find the appopriately-named NextDoor Bar & Lounge, a low-key alternative to the maddening crowds across the Beltway.

Since opening six years ago as a companion to Hungry's, NextDoor has distinguished itself from its big sister restaurant by offering a decidedly loungey atmosphere—befitting its name—complete with cozy outdoor patio, even cozier indoor fireplaces, cocktail flights (also: wine flights, tequila flights, vodka flights, and mimosa flights) and a series of weekly specials from "Man Cave Mondays" (a.k.a. steak night) to "Wine Down Wednesdays" that bring $5 glasses of wine and $7 pizzas. Until recently, Sunday was reserved for "Sunday Fundays," but now that crawfish season is amping up, NextDoor will be hosting their weekly crawfish boil on that day, starting March 8.
Every Sunday during the season, NextDoor will be serving crawfish with potatoes and corn (at no added cost!) for $7 a pound—a very reasonable price this time of year. Also $7: their signature Ultimate Bloody Mary. Rounding out the Sunday specials are $6 frozen bellinis and $5 mimosas. Meanwhile, Wine Down Wednesdays and Taco Tuesdays are still on, as is another new weekly special just in time for prime brunch season: "Sizzling Sangria Saturdays," which feature $6 fresh fruit sangrias and $10 huevos rancheros. And best of all? You don't have to valet your car.
