Summer lovin'...did it have you a blast? If not, don't fret, the season isn't quite over yet. As always, summer blockbusters continue to heat up the silver screen, but you may want to consider heating up your next date night with an out-of-the-box movie feature. For the remaining Saturdays in August, Tiny Boxwood's invites guests to lay blankets out on their sprawling lawn and enjoy classic films under the night sky. One of Houston's loveliest restaurants with its scenic grounds and old Hollywood vibe, it is the perfect destination to enjoy such an evening. Factor in a bottle of wine and a plate of their world-class chocolate chip cookies, and it sure beats a night at home with the TV.
Located on West Alabama at Saint St., Tiny Boxwood's is in many ways a hidden gem within the city. Picturesque and serene, with lush greenery at every turn, the garden at Tiny Boxwood's is a romantic setting for any date. With a marvelous selection of fine wines and an assortment of pastries baked fresh daily, it's hard to not take advantage of the charming landscape and stay awhile.

Very well known for its weekend brunch—where it's come early or wait in line and wait for a table—Tiny Boxwood's also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering an impressive menu which changes seasonally. The Late Afternoon menu provides guests with options ranging from a fresh meat and cheese plate or a French Picnic complete with rosemary ham, whipped goat cheese, house-made basil pesto and artisan bread to the hard to resist 3:30 PM Muffin: fresh-baked and pulled from one of only two batches made daily at 3:30 p.m.
While dinner and a movie may seem as in the box as it gets for a date night, Tiny Boxwoods ups the romance factor by playing old movies on Saturday nights. The schedule for Movies on the Lawn for the remainder of August features Rebecca on Saturday, August 22nd and It Happened One Night on Saturday, August 29. Whether it's that classic films take us back to a simpler time or that they somehow captured the innocence of love we so rarely see these days, enjoying them within the stunning surroundings of Tiny Boxwood's makes for a most romantic evening. And a very out of the box way to celebrate a date night.
