Agha Juice & Cafe

Agha is the destination for freshly squeezed sugar cane juice. Never tried it? There’s a cart selling it on seemingly every street corner in India, which may be why Agha is a favorite among South Asians who grew up on the sweet, refreshing treat (which has the same calorie count as skim milk, by the way).

Beet Box Blend Bar

This family-owned River Oaks gem packs its juices with super foods like kale, spinach, banana and avocado. Many of the offerings here can serve as meal replacements, especially if, for a little extra, you add almonds, walnuts, cashews or chia and flax seeds. Whatever you order, you can count on fresh, organic ingredients.

Flow Juice Bar

This straightforward little juice bar is popular among Montrose bike riders, dog walkers and antiquers who like to stop in, pick their poison and be on their way, as seating is limited. The juices are crave-worthy and creative—try the Bounce Back with cucumber, pineapple, apple, kale, spinach, turmeric and mint—while the multi-day cleanses are a delicious way to detox.

Fuel Kitchen & Health Bar

Like Snap Kitchen, this Houston-based eatery offers a menu of fresh, nutritious dishes that don’t skimp on taste, including fresh-squeezed juices packed with vitamins and minerals. And their names tell you everything you need to know: get the Skin Glow in the morning and the Immunity Builder on a sick day.

Juice Girl

Juice Girl started out as a food truck but now has a bricks-and-mortar Heights location with a laidback, artsy vibe (you can still hire the “juice van” to cater your party, natch). The spot serves 100 percent organic juice and smoothies. Our favorite: All You Need Is Love juice, made with spinach, strawberries, pineapple and coconut oil. Groovy.

Snap Kitchen

Austin-based Snap Kitchen, which now has nine Houston locations, aims to offer both healthy fare and convenience—think fast food for foodies. Not surprisingly, fresh-pressed juices with names like Easy Greens, Super Greens and Energy Boost fly off the shelves here. Try subbing in one of these for your afternoon Starbucks.

Sustain Juicery

This Bellaire destination is known for its juice cleanses, which are efficiently packed in glass bottles labeled 1 to 6 that you drink in order throughout the day. A regular bottle of juice here is $8 or $9, while a one-day cleanse is $54, higher than most places but popular nonetheless.

Kale-aid at True Food Kitchen

This one-stop shop in EaDo offers a juice bar in addition to its coffee bar, dessert bar, full menu, patio, wi-fi, views of downtown, and on and on. Fresh juices and tonics in a variety of flavors come in cold glass bottles, and all pair perfectly with several of the eatery’s food options.

True Food Kitchen

This vegetarian paradise is the rare dine-in restaurant that features fresh-pressed juice on the menu. While our favorite is the popular Kale-aid—a bright-green beverage that also features apple and cucumber—all the juices are superb at this Galleria-area spot, especially when accompanied by one of their winning quinoa burgers.
