Brasserie du Parc’s Easter Menu Includes a “Bunny Face Crêpe”

The tastiest way to be a kid again this holiday is more chic than you think.

Brasserie du Parc is rolling out a special Easter Brunch menu this Sunday. And we mean special. If you like to mark the holiday with a fine meal, the eatery situated near Discovery Green might just have what you’re looking for.

Live accordion music will accompany the brunch. For $36, diners will get to choose three courses from the prix-fixe menu. Appetizers range from lighter fare such as a Caesar salad, mushroom ravioli, or deviled egg, to richer items such as beef tartare, chicken liver paté, and duck foie gras.

Ten items are available as a main course, with items ranging from eggs Benedict to vegetable risotto to Atlantic salmon to steak and eggs, as well as several savory crêpes, filled bacon and scrambled eggs, or vegetable ratatouille.

But the clear highlight is the dessert “bunny face crêpe,” crafted to look just like its description. The berry jam-filled crêpe features blueberry eyes and a strawberry nose with chocolate whiskers. It is almost certainly the cutest dessert you can have on Easter Sunday. If crêpes aren’t to your taste (and who are you?), there’s also a dark chocolate custard with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, and an île flottante consisting of a sea of pistacho crème anglaise and a meringue island.

Beyond executive chef Philippe Verpland’s brunch menu, beverage director Kimberly Paul has created a new seasonal cocktail list, with half a dozen additions appropriate for the springtime.  These cover the range of flavor profiles and styles, from the refreshing citrus of the Nouvelle Vague, to the dry and aromatic Oro Incas, to the herbaceous Sunny Side of the Parc. Brasserie du Parc is now also offering a “Green Hour” from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, where absinthe options will be served along with more standard happy hour fare.
