Update: January 16, 10 a.m.: In an update posted to Facebook this morning, Weights + Measures said it hopes to be up and running again by Friday. 

As many around the greater Houston area get ready to light up those fireplaces to fight off another freezing night, we got some news about fire as a destroyer instead of warmer. Late Monday morning, Weights + Measures posted on their official Facebook page that they were closed for the day due to a fire that occurred at the restaurant earlier in the day. No one was harmed, and an investigation is underway.  

We'll update you when we know more, but for now keep an eye on their social media channels for word on when they'll be back in business. You can read their full statement below: 

"We experienced a small fire this morning. Our staff and customers are safe and unharmed. We will be closed today as we assess any damage and investigate the cause. Thank You to the Houston Fire Department for their swift action. Thank You to our fans and friends for all your concern! We will update you when we can."
