It's going to be an epic Thursday.

There’s one thing that just about all Houstonians have in common, and that’s our love for a good margarita. Thursday, February 22, is National Margarita Day, and we’re giving you a small list of places having happy hour specials for Texas’ favorite cocktail.

Pistolero's

You know the old saying: one tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor. One of Houston’s greatest taco and tequila bars will be having a happy hour from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. serving their signature $4 classic margaritas. Although they won’t be celebrating Taco Tuesday, we still insist you try their award-winning tacos.

El Big Bad

If you’re downtown, stop by El Big Bad for their annual National Margarita Day celebration that will include happy hour, dancing and fun. The world’s largest infused tequila bar, with over 70 house-made infused tequilas and fresh juices, will be having their party from 4 to 10 p.m. They will be serving $5 premium tequila shots and $5 freshly squeezed margaritas. Wash Townsend will be playing Latin jazz. The event is free, just simply RSVP on their Facebook event

The Don’Key

The Don'Key have been proudly serving Pasadena, Texas for 34 years and have completely renovated and extended their restaurant for a better look. Join them for happy hour all day that will include $4 large and $3 small house ‘ritas. As far as food, I highly recommend the “Donkey Balls” which are not included on their regular menu; they are two fried balls of cheesy goodness with your choice of beef or chicken fajita inside.

Chuy’s

What’s better than a nacho bar and happy hour? Chuy’s in River Oaks will be having happy hour all day that will include your choice of a small margarita for $4.95 or a large one for $7.75; you can even add your choice of flavor, including strawberry, mango, blackberry or blood orange. For an extra $1 you can add a floater and there will be serving an all-you-can-eat FREE nacho bar. Did you know if you bring in a framed picture of your dog, you’ll get an appetizer on the house?

Cyclone Anaya’s

Go big or go home. Try Houston’s original jumbo margarita for only $5 all day long. Be warned, though: their 'rita is strong just like their founder, who was a former pro wrestler.

Lorenzo’s El Tiempo Cantina Washington

El Tiempo dedication to serving an all made-from-scratch kitchen makes for one of the best dining experiences in Houston. They’ll be having their house margaritas for $7.25 all day long, served in their cute little cactus-style margarita glasses.
