If Uber Eats is the Tinder of food, think of The Urbane Society as The League. The members-only phone app created by Houston entrepreneur Nicholas Florescu connects local foodies to exclusive fine dining experiences, like discounted rates, special perks, and private parties. Late last month, 250 of the city's sparkling young professionals who are also likely also on The League turned out to celebrate the app's launch.

The sold-out rooftop shindig went down at B&B Butchers & Restaurant, the upscale Washington Ave. steakhouse Beyonce and Jay Z purportedly frequent when they're in town. Queen B might have been absent, but a good time was not: Guests mixed and mingled on and off the upstairs patio with the help of an open bar, light bites, and scene-setting music by DJ Johnny Mac. Florescu, who also founded digital marketing agency Kubis Interactive (which built the app), introduced his new venture to the dynamic professionals The Urbane Society hopes will support the future growth of popular restaurants with their app membership.

Plans are still underway, but The Urbane Society plans to feature unique dining experiences at such Houston hot-spots as B&B Butchers & Restaurant (naturally), Le Colonial, and The Grove. Membership is restricted to ages 21-34, and the app integrates with OpenTable to allow users to make reservations, sync credit card information, and pay for fine dining in a single tap. The Urbane Society will be available for download in the Apple and Google Play stores in May.
