The Burger Joint, Montrose

The shaded wooden porch at this popular spot is pooch-approved, and the place goes above and beyond to serve its furry patrons, offering dog-friendly milkshakes, meat patties, and treats.

Cedar Creek Bar & Grill, The Heights

Heights-area pet owners are rejoicing over the Creek Group’s recent (and long overdue) decision to allow dogs at its massive Hill Country–inspired outdoor dining area. Diners and drinkers can now treat their pups to leashed playtime in the creek after enjoying frozen mimosas and frickles on the patio.

Cottonwood, Garden Oaks/Oak Forest

Pet parents flock here for the delicious twist on Texas pub food, live music, and impressively dog-friendly atmosphere. Conveniently, the expansive patio sits right next to Graham Park.

At 8th Wonder Brewery

8th Wonder Brewery, EaDo

Though many of Houston’s breweries are havens for dogs, the huge outdoor beer garden here, Wonderworld, puts 8th Wonder ahead of the pack. The recently expanded space features lots of shaded seating to keep pets’ paws cool while their owners grab a beer, visit the Eatsie Boys food truck, and play corn hole.

Local Foods, Upper Kirby

While their people munch on scratch-made sandwiches and seasonal salads, pets keep cool on this trendy, turf-lined patio. Attentive staffers are always quick with a bowl of water.
