Beloved New Orleans-Based Creole Restaurant Is Coming to Houston
A major player in Creole cooking is coming to Houston. Eater reports that Neyow's Creole Cafe will open a Bayou City location on Richmond Avenue in Briar Meadow this year.
According to the report, owners Tanya and Timothy Dubutelet are expanding westward in part because Houston has a number of New Orleans ex-pats displaced after Hurricane Katrina. The location will be able to seat 300, says the report, and will be serving the same menu as at the original spot.
That means po'boys, crab claws, char-grilled oysters, gumbo, and a heavenly looking pasta-and-crustacean dish called Shrimp on the Avenue.
