One of Houston's more popular restaurants has suddenly announced that it will close its doors this weekend.

Pax Americana, the Montrose restaurant that opened in 2014 and in 2016 was one of Houstonia's top 100 restaurants, is shuttering after service Sunday, per an Instagram announcement. CultureMap was first to report on the shuttering.

According to the Instagram post, the team said it was time to focus on future ideas.

The restaurant was founded by Dan Zimmerman and Shepard Ross. Zimmerman is also president of a real estate firm and principal at La Colombe d'Or Hotel and Restaurant. Ross, who left the restaurant previously, is a partner at Bravery Chef Hall, which is set to open soon downtown, plus owner at Brooklyn Athletic Club, among other concepts.

According to another Instagram post, all alcohol at Pax Americana will be 40 percent off Friday and half-off Saturday, as the restaurant cleans out its stash.
