This weekend, you can get your first taste at Houston's version of Truth BBQ.
According to the Truth BBQ Instagram page, Truth will open its second location at Washington and Heights Boulevard at 11 a.m. Saturday. Eater first reported the story.
Truth BBQ made its name in Brenham, where it gets high marks for brisket, beef ribs, pork ribs, and all the usual pit fare. Sides at the original location include corn pudding, mac 'n' cheese, tater tots, and greens, plus a specialty stuffed potato with chopped brisket, sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon, and butter.
Botello writes the restaurant—which is situated at the former J. Black's property, commanding an area that is amid major changes (the recent closing of nearby Hickory Hollow and the construction of the Buffalo Heights mixed-use development that includes an H-E-B)—will be open Saturday until it sells out.
The Brenham location has been closed temporarily, as the Truth crew was busy setting up the Houston spot.
