What to Eat and Drink at Astros Games This Season
Rejoice, Astros fans: Baseball season is upon us once again. We can’t wait to cheer on our defending American League West champs at Minute Maid Park while sipping beer and chowing on … a hot dog wrapped in Frito crumbs? Heck yeah. Forget peanuts and Cracker Jack—these are the new food and drink items to nab at the ol’ ball game.

Frito Pie Corndog
Skip the tailgate and go big with this new Texas classic. A footlong hot dog is dipped—not in cornmeal but in Frito crumbs—and fried before being topped with queso blanco and chili. It’s available at the aptly named Texas Legends stand. If you finish the corndog within one inning, consider the feat legendary.

Smoked Pork Burnt End Topped Tots
Available at the Street Eats stand, this snack is perfect for sharing while watching Justin Verlander mow down a hapless offense. The tots are topped with smoky and fatty burnt ends, queso blanco, barbecue sauce, green onions, and pickles. Be sure to get a little of everything in one forkful.

Crawford Bock
Now, what to pair with all that meat and cheese? Karbach Brewing Co. partnered with the Astros on this 4.5 percent ABV brew with a light, malty backbone and smooth hop character. You can find it throughout town and at the ballpark, either on draft or in awesome cans inspired by the Astros’ 1970s “tequila sunrise” look. Cheers to another big season!
